Paksebali Village Tour
Welcome to Paksebali Village, a beautiful and enchanting Balinese village located in Dawan District, Klungkung, just one and a half hour away from Ngurah Rai International Airport, in Kuta, Bali.
Here in Paksebali village, guests will find themselves immersed in the serene atmosphere of real Bali, far away from the stress and the hustle-and-bustle of the city. Surrounded by lush green vegetation, clear and clean River Dengen, rolling hills, fresh air, traditional homes, ancient temples and friendly people, Paksebali Village is an untouched gem, a hidden part of Bali from a by-gone era that many are yearning to see. Now, the villagers have opened their hearts and their doors to welcome guests into their enthralling world.
The locals at Paksevillage honour classic Balinese rituals and traditions that have been handed down from generation to generation. Artisans and craftsmen create beautiful and exquisite pieces with their hands, women weave fine and delicate fabrics by hand using looms, farmers work the thriving rice fields that go as far as the eye can see. Birds swoop down to drink from crystal clear ponds and in the night, you can hear the endearing sound of crickets, toads and night-time birds.
Guests visiting PakseBali will receive a traditional Balinese welcome that honours all who enter the village. Registrations take place at Paksebali Homestay, just north of the village’s Satria market where you will receive a welcome drink and a flower necklace. Thereafter, the guided tour begins with a brief exploration of the Paksebali Homestay, a quaint Balinese home with accents from the Dutch colonial era.
Then it’s time to visit to several residents’ homes, where you’ll get to see firsthand how the locals live as you explore the interiors of their homes while interacting with them. Did you know that every Balinese home is created according to a set of rules, very much similar to the Chinese Feng Shui? It is believed that if one were to go against these rules, the inhabitants of the homes will receive negative energy and will be in direct risk of misfortune and disease.
Your tour will take you to witness the intricate process of Endek weaving, the making of the Balinese Gamelan, exploring a traditional Balinese kitchen, participating in the building of a Balinese home, making handicrafts along with the artisans and craftsmen and visiting a local orphanage that comes with its very own beguiling history. Thereafter, a short hike through Unda forest follows before ending at Kali Unda Restaurant where you can rest and relax while enjoying a splendid view of a waterfall.
The tour at Paksebali Village is priced at IDR 150,000 per person for international guests and Rp 75,000 per person for domestic guests and is inclusive of a welcome drink, mineral water throughout the tour, a local guide, and a complete lunch consisting of an appetizer, a main course and dessert.
